Bergkamp hopeful for contract decision
from teamtalk.com

Dennis Bergkamp is hopeful his new contract will be sorted out soon and has revealed he is touched by the support shown by fans.

Bergkamp has mentioned that both Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and vice-chairman David Dein are hoping to sort the situation before long. The former Dutch international has expanded that everyone is on the same wavelength and he is confident he will end his career with the Gunners.

The 31 year-old has always been keen to stay at Highbury and is looking for a two-year deal, with his present contract due to expire in the summer.

Bergkamp has been a little disappointed not to have started many games so far this season and anxiety was starting to rise.

He feared recently that the club were freezing him out, as they had not come back with a progress report after earlier contract negotiations. However he now appears to be a lot happier about where his future stands and a finalised deal is just a matter of time.
