Wednesday December 6, 2000 Bergkamp about the Bayern draw from icons.com "Well, it all started so well for us at Highbury last night, but in the end we feel pretty disappointed with the draw. Thierry Henry put us ahead just a few minutes into the game and Kanu added a second 10 minutes into the second half. Sadly though, it wasn't enough and we’re left with just one point as we go into the Champions' League Christmas break. "It was good to see Thierry and Kanu score because all four strikers at Arsenal have been getting stick for not scoring for a while. That sort of talk is stupid and I'm glad that the drought is over so people can stop the criticism. However, for myself, while I accept the manager's decisions and the need for squad rotation, I would of course have loved to have been able to play some part last night. "As I said, the Germans don't give up and so it proved as they fought their way back to get a draw. Now, we have it all to do if we're to qualify for the quarter-finals. It isn't impossible for that to happen, but we really need some good results now." |
