Newcastle boss Bobby Robson wants Arsenal's out of favour Dutch striker Dennis Bergkamp, according to the News Of The World. Bergkamp is still to sign an extension to his Highbury contract, and Robson is ready to move to snap the experienced forward up on a free transfer. A Newcastle source is reported to have told the paper: "Bobby Robson spoke to Arsene Wenger this week and enquired about the possibility of signing Dennis. Arsenal do want to lose him and are hoping he will sign the new deal. But Newcastle are ready to take advantage of the fact he is yet to sign a new deal. Obviously the financial situation at Newcastle means Bobby does not have much money and if he can get a player of Bergkamp's quality for nothing, then clearly he will be keen."
