Bergkamp plays waiting game
from soccernet.com

Dennis Bergkamp is not worried that he might no longer be first choice for Arsenal. He knows his time will come again.

Thierry Henry and Francis Jeffers are expected to get the starting strike berths but Bergkamp said: 'To win the Premiership you need a lot of players.

'If you look at our squad, you will see there are great players all the way through. We needed to make signings and the club have done that.

'I'm not the manager, so it's not my place to decide how many strikers we need. But my feelings are the same as when I signed a new contract six months ago.

'Then, my ambition was to do as well as I can for Arsenal and finish my career here.'

At the time Bergkamp knew he would not be the No.1 striker at Highbury and, now in the latter stages of a magnificent career, he is happy just to take his turn in the rotation.
