Bergkamp is our Zidane - Henry
from soccernet.com

Thierry Henry says Arsenal team mate Dennis Bergkamp is almost as good as France partner and World Player of the Year Zinedine Zidane.

The 34-year-old Bergkamp retired from international football four years ago after 36 goals in 79 games for the Dutch side but remains a first team choice for Arsene Wenger at Highbury.

'The timing of his passing is outstanding,' Henry told reporters on Monday as France prepare for an international friendly against the Netherlands on Wednesday.

'I've played with so many players. He does not do tricks like Zinedine Zidane but I don't know if any other player can see the game as well and as fast as he does,' the Premiership's leading scorer added.

'Everyone who has played with Dennis will tell you how great he is.'

The Dutchman, who helped Arsenal to league and FA Cup doubles in 1998 and 2002, has been in sparkling form for the league leaders this season, scoring five times.

'When Dennis Bergkamp scores, it's not a common goal, it's always what we call a "Dennis Bergkamp goal",' Henry said, adding that the Dutchman's influence was essential at Highbury.

'He's like an example for the young lads. It's always nice when he's around.'
